Newmark Merrill, a California-based company that owns several outdoor malls in Colorado, commissioned a short piece documenting artist Gigi Douglas as she painted a new mural at one of their properties. The goal was not only to capture the painting process and an interview with Gigi, but also to convey her upbeat personality, creative approach, and the mural’s positive message.
The project was completed as a half-day shoot with a minimal crew—just myself handling all aspects of production on site. This streamlined approach kept the budget low while still delivering an authentic, engaging portrait of Douglas’ artistic process.
